Bakuretsu Hunter (Sorcerer Hunters) takes place in a land called the Spooner Continent. This land is a mixture of magic and technology, that has many present day elements but also many things from the middle ages. The Spooner Continent is ruled by the magic of sorcerers who oppress the common people. These commmon people have only one defense against these sorcerers. Their defense lies in the hands of a secret band that has come to be known by the name 'Sorcerer Hunters'. These hunters are dispatched by the head of the Stellar Church, a leader called Big Mama. She sends the hunters on many missions to free the common people from evil sorcerer's oppression.

The Group consists of two brothers Carrot and Marron Glaces, two sisters Chocolate and Tira Misu, and a muscle bound teammate named Gateau Mocha. This series follows their adventures traveling the land punishing evil sorcerers, sealing the evil magic called kinju and having fun along the way. They meet up with many different people along the way, that join their group temporarily and finding out more about the mistakes that have been made in that past that they must work to correct.

Bakuretsu Hunter has been made into a television series, an OVA, manga, novels and cd dramas.
